Yes. Your Hedvig contract has no lock-in period, meaning that you are free to cancel it whenever you choose. Simply contact us via the chat function in the app, or send an email to hedvig@hedvig.com. (Unfortunately, we can’t handle personal information and cancellations via the chat function on this website.)
If you cancel your policy in the middle of the month, you’ll only be charged up until the cancellation date.
If you sublet (rent another person’s condominium), you need a rental home insurance.
Unfortunately not. If you’re not listed in the Swedish Population Register, and lack a personal identity number, you can’t become a Hedvig member. This is due to the fact that certain of our services are connected to your personal identity number.
You can record a claim anytime in the Hedvig app, no matter where in the world you are. Simply log in and click “File a claim” to start recording. When you’re done, we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Traditional insurance companies require a lot of time, and paperwork, to handle a claim.
Hedvig makes the process much quicker and easier. Simply record your claim right in the app, and then our team will take care of it almost immediately. If you are entitled to compensation, you will usually receive the money within minutes.
The compensation for lost and damaged items is based on their current market value, not the original purchase price. You can find a table with the age-based deductions for the most common items in our terms.
On the other hand, for some things, such as legal fees, you will be compensated with a fixed amount.
The deductible varies depending on what type of claim you have. You can find your deductible in the app or in your insurance documents.
To speed up the claims handling, make sure to attach receipts for expensive items. Telling us when and where you bought the items also makes the process more efficient.
Did several items get damaged, stolen or lost? Contact us and we will help you fill in a simple template with details about the possessions.

Contact our towing parner, Falck, at +46 10 45 99 222 (open 24 hours a day). They’ll send assistance quickly if your vehicle needs to be towed.
Towing services are included in our “partial coverage” and “full coverage” car insurance policies.

Hedvig protects you against many different things. In short, a home insurance compensates you for financial losses that you suffer if your house or private property is lost or damaged.
The insurance also compensates you if you get hurt while you are traveling, or if you are responsible for accidentally damaging other people or their property. In addition to all this, your insurance also reimburses you for legal fees when a dispute needs to be settled in court.

Our car insurance includes all the protection you and your car need. Choose from traffic insurance, partial coverage and full coverage, depending on how old your car is. The insurance covers various damage events, with full coverage offering the most comprehensive protection. Read more about our car insurance here.
We also offer accident insurance as a supplement to your home insurance. Accident insurance provides comprehensive protection for you and your family in the event of an accident. It covers hospital stays, dental injuries, rehabilitation, therapy and scars, as well as permanent injuries. And you pay no deductible whatsoever.
Our home insurances cover you and up to 6 other people living with you. In other words, a household of 1–7 people.
In order to sign up for Hedvig, you need to be 18 years or older. If you have kids younger than 18 years who are not registered at your address, you are still able to add them to your insurance policy, as long as they live with you regularly. In this case, the children are covered when they are with you.

Yes. With growing uncertainties around the world, Hedvig is now making sure refugees are covered by their home insurance, without any extra cost, when offered housing by any of Hedvigs members.
Through a simple message in the Hedvig app, all members can extend their home insurance so that it covers refugees living under their roof, at no extra cost. The broadening service is available throughout Scandinavia as Hedvig is available in both Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
The co-insurance is valid as in a first step of 3 months and for people who are not yet registered in Sweden. However, this does not apply to members who provide housing for rent or compensation from, for example, a municipality.
Our home insurance includes travel protection for up to 45 days per trip. Unfortunately, you can’t extend this protection to cover more than 45 days. If you return home for a short duration (less than 30 days) during your trip, your travel protection will not be extended by another 45 days if you return to the same destination as before.

Are you insured with Folksam, Trygg Hansa, Aktsam, ICA, Tre Kronor/Swedbank or Länsförsäkringar Stockholm? Then we will help you cancel your old insurance.
For other insurance companies, you need to cancel your insurance yourself, but you don't have to wait even if you have a commitment period left:

Take out a car insurance with Hedvig.
Receive an email with a link that lets you cancel your previous insurance using BankID.
We’ll reach out to your previous insurance company and cancel your policy for you.
Done! Your new car insurance with Hedvig will automatically be activated on the same day your previous one expires.
Of course we do! For those who live in a rental property or a tenant-owned apartment, the price starts at 49 SEK/month. The offer is valid for those under the age of 30 whose study rate amounts to half time (15 higher education credits per semester).
If you’re not registered as a resident in Sweden, and/or lack a Swedish personal identity number, you can’t sign up for Hedvig. This is due to the fact that our payment partner Trustly doesn’t allow it.

Your monthly payment is handled via digital direct debit. You can set up a direct debit in the “My profile” section of the app.
Unfortunately, you can only pay for Hedvig via digital direct debit.
Digital direct debit can’t be activated via your bank; it needs to be set up in the Hedvig app, or via the link you’ll receive from us.
If this doesn’t work, contact your bank and make sure that they allow digital direct debit.

Yes, thanks to the Hedvig Forever discount, it is actually possible. For each friend you invite to take out their own Hedvig insurance, your own monthly premium is reduced by 10 SEK. If you invite enough friends, it means that you have free insurance for life.
